COVID-19 Information

Staying safe and well at home

The outbreak of COVID-19 presents one of the country’s most significant challenges in recent history. Bloom & Care understand this is an extremely worrying time for everyone, especially for the older and more vulnerable members of society and their loved ones.

Our care assistants are here to deliver essential care to clients and also offer support such as advice to stay physically and mentally active and well at home, for example, eating correctly and keeping active. They can also support with day to day activities such as shopping and picking up medication and helping older people to stay connected with family and friends remotely through technology such as video calls.

Our team is working hard to ensure that our clients get the support they need during this tough time, as well as ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our Community Care Assistants as key workers out there delivering care at home. We are following the Government’s guidance on delivering home care during this time to ensure that we are minimising the risk of spreading the illness whilst still providing our vital service to clients so that they can stay safe and well at home.

You can read more about some of the measures we have in place to ensure the safety of both clients and Community Care Assistants. This includes use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and robust infection control training and hygiene measures which our care assistants are strictly following. We also continue to follow directions provided by the UK’s Public Health Authorities and World Health Organisation and keep a close eye on the situation.

Everything we do is always with the well-being of our clients, team and Community Care Assistants foremost in our minds at this difficult time

UPDATED: Changes to the universal use of face masks in adult social care for COVID-19

On 15 December 2022 the Government announced changes to masking guidance across adult social care, moving towards a risk-based use of masks.

From 22nd December 2022 this updated guidance details the risk-based approach of using face masks, which replaces previous guidance that stated face masks should be worn at all times across adult social care (DHSC, 2022)

Our staff will continue to assess each client and each individual situation daily.
